Shopping For Pop-Up Displays 101
Pop-up displays are the most popular and most well-known display system. They are a powerful graphic platform that are easy to setup and ship. There are a variety of pop-up displays being sold today, so it is important to understand the differences. When selecting a pop-up, you should weigh 3 key factors:
- Price
- Durability
- Ease of use
Price is an easy factor to understand, you want to select the best product for your needs at the best price.
Durability. That being said, how do you determine what your needs are? First look at the quality of the pop-up frame and its hardware. The most durable pop-up frames have heavy duty aluminum frames and metal connectors. They also have a limited number of hubs and connecting frame pieces. The hub area is a key area to look closely at, a number of the new "internet" brands have very weak hub connections that lead to frequent hub failure.
Ease of use is also a critical factor, the highest quality pop-ups have easy lock frames that pop-up even before you have engaged the connector locks. They also have connected channel bars, which means you only have 7 pieces to keep up with as opposed to 21. Make sure you have a clear understanding of what will be involved with setup.
At Displayit®, we realize there are a wide variety of pop-up needs out there, so we offer two levels of pop-up systems. Our Standard pop-up system consists of a heavy duty aluminum frame with reinforced hub section. We've found this to be the most durable economy system on the market. While not as cheap as some of the economy systems on the internet, we felt this system was one of the most reliable systems for the money. Our premium frame system offers a heavy-duty aluminum frame that is reconfigurable with the use of an allen wrench. The hubs are basically unbreakable. We have had virtually no frame damage on these units. Please note that both of our systems are covered by lifetime warranties. We will repair the frame no matter what caused the damage.
What Size Pop-Up Do You Need?
There are four main sizes of pop-ups, 6 and 8 foot table tops as well as 8 and 10 foot free-standing. The first thing you need to consider is whether you will be using the pop-up on a table top or if it will be free-standing. If a table top model is needed, you should consider what length table you will use most often. A six foot model will fit on both a six and eight foot table; while an eight foot model will not fit on a six foot table (see Premium in the Frames section below. Those can be reconfigured.).
Standard or Premium Frames
We offer two levels of pop-up frames to fit your needs and your budget. All include the frame, channel bars (used for attaching the fabric panels), 2 halogen lights (6 foot model includes one light), fabric panels and case. The 8 and 10 foot free standing models include a case to counter conversion kit. The both the Standard and Premium frames are covered by a lifetime warranty.
1. Standard

The Standard pop-up frame is well built, with many cross members connecting at reinforced hubs. This system is not easily field repairable. Frame is covered by a lifetime warranty. The Standard pop-up uses shock-corded channel bars for attaching fabric or mural panels.
2. Premium

The Premium pop-up is our strongest frame with thicker cross members and a heavy duty hub. The hub also allows for trouble-free field repairs and adds the ability to reconfigure the system to a smaller or larger size (moving to a larger size requires additional cross members). The Premium pop-up uses hinged channel bars for attaching fabric or mural panels.
