Shopping for Pop-Up Displays
Pop-up displays are the most popular and well-known display system. They’re a powerful graphic platform, they’re easy to set up and ship, and there are several sizes available, including table top, 8' & 10' wide, 10' x 20', and 20' x 20'.
When selecting a pop-up, consider three key factors:
- Price
- Durability
- Ease of use
Price is pretty straightforward. Be sure to select the best product for your needs at the best possible price point. How do you determine your exact needs? This is where the next factor, durability, comes into play.
Durability - Look at the quality of the pop-up frame and its hardware. High-quality pop-up displays are comprised of heavy-duty aluminum frames and metal connectors. They also have a limited number of hubs and connecting frame pieces. Low-quality frames have very weak hub connections, which will lead to hub failure and cause your display to collapse.
Ease of use is the final critical factor. The highest-quality pop-ups have easy-lock frames that snap into place, even before you’ve engaged the connector locks. These displays also have connected channel bars, which means you only have 7 pieces to keep track of, rather than 21. This translates into less setup time and less staff involved in the setup process. When purchasing your pop-up display, ensure you have a clear understanding of its assembly requirements.
What Size Pop-Up Do You Need?
The first thing you should consider is whether you will be using the pop-up on a table top or if it will be free-standing. Exhibitors typically choose one of four main sizes: a 6’ or 8’ table top display, or an 8’ or 10’ wide free-standing display. If a table top model is needed, then consider the table length you’ll be using most often. A six-foot model will fit on a table measuring six or eight feet long; an eight-foot model will not fit on a six-foot table (see the premium pop-up displays in the section below; these can be reconfigured).
Standard or Premium Frames?
At Displayit®, we realize our customers have widely varying needs and budgets, so we have chosen to offer two styles of pop-up systems, standard and premium.
Standard

Our standard pop-up systems consist of heavy-duty aluminum frames, with shock-corded channel bars for attaching fabric or mural panels. Hub sections are reinforced. We've found our standard pop-ups to be the most durable economy systems on the market. While some of our competitors may offer cheaper systems, our standard pop-up displays are affordable and reliable.
Premium

Our premium frame systems feature thicker, heavy-duty aluminum frames, with hinged channel bars for attaching fabric or mural panels. These frames are reconfigurable with the use of an Allen wrench, and the hubs are virtually indestructible, resulting in trouble-free field repairs.
Please note that both our standard and premium pop-up systems are covered by lifetime warranties. We will repair the frame, no matter the cause of the damage.
